Reiki Courses

Welcome and thanks for visiting! I am currently on maternity leave so will be taking a break from teaching and offering treatments for awhile. Please feel free to explore the site for general information on Reiki, or contact me for referrals to other teachers and therapists in London and the South East.

People are drawn to Reiki for a wide variety of reasons. Some individuals are interested in self-healing, others may be complementary therapists seeking to learn a new treatment modality. Many people are simply looking for a way to relax and unwind from their busy and demanding lifestyles, while others are interested in developing their spirituality.

Reiki has something to offer everyone, and the ability to help people in many different ways. Treatments from a qualified practitioner are a great way to experience Reiki, and may indeed be very helpful for any number of adverse conditions. But the greatest benefit in Reiki comes for learning to practice it yourself.

An ongoing Reiki practice can help you to learn about ki, the Japanese word for “life energy”. By cultivating an understanding of ki, we learn about our inner selves in a fundamental energetic way. Regular Reiki practice helps to keep your energy strong and balanced, resulting in greater peace of mind, better health, and improved well being on all levels.

Reiki is simple and easy to learn, and everyone has the natural ability to do so. You do not need to be experienced in spiritual matters, nor do you need to be able to meditate. The most important things in starting out in Reiki are an open mind, and the willingness to practice on a regular basis. Reiki is an innate human ability, and within a very short time, new practitioners are able to be of great help to both themselves and others through its use.

The practice of Reiki has become very popular in the West over the last few decades. It has also become very misunderstood, often moving far away from its Japanese roots and the teachings of its founder, Mikao Usui. Today, westerners practice many styles of Reiki, and new students can often feel daunted by the wide variety of courses available.

When looking for a prospective Reiki course, it is important to ensure that the teacher specializes in the style of Reiki that feels right for you. Some teachers offer a traditional Japanese approach, others may not. What people teach on a Reiki course may be quite variable, even among teachers who work with similar methods. As Reiki is not regulated in the UK, it is important to thoroughly research both your prospective teacher, and their course content before making any decisions.

The London School of Usui Reiki Ryoho teaches Reiki from a traditional Japanese perspective, and strives to honour the teachings and philosophy of the system’s founder, Mikao Usui. The school uses textbooks and teaching materials from the highly acclaimed International House Of Reiki and does its best to offer students a way of practicing Reiki that true to its Japanese roots and in harmony with Usui’s teachings.

Usui Reiki Ryoho is a grounded and balanced approach to Reiki, emphasizing gradual development, dedication to one’s practice and ongoing teacher support. It is a joy to learn, and will offer you immense benefit throughout your life, as well as helping you assist others in need.
